Description
A total solar eclipse is captured, displaying the sun's corona as a glowing halo around a darkened moon. The stark contrast between the black moon and the bright corona creates a dramatic and captivating phenomenon against the blackness of space.
Total Solar Eclipse April 8, 2024 3:16:00 pm
Corona of the sun’s upper atmosphere is visible around the eclipsed Sun during totality. Its shape is determined by the Sun’s magnetic field and is linked to the sunspot cycle. This is the exact time of the new moon.
On April 8, 2024, the path of totality will sweep across parts of the United States, Canada, and Mexico. A total solar eclipse is an astronomical event that occurs when the Moon passes directly between the Sun and Earth, completely obscuring the Sun’s face. During this rare celestial event, the Moon casts its shadow, known as the umbra, onto Earth’s surface, creating a moment of darkness during the day.
