An owl chick is nestled within the hollow of a weathered tree trunk, looking directly at the camera with a piercing gaze. Feathers are starting to form on the chick's body, indicating a phase of growth as it prepares for life outside the nest.

Dale Kincaid is native to the Cleveland, Ohio area. From childhood he has always had an enthusiasm for photography.
