Description
A highly detailed, double-hemisphere world map is presented with geographical features of various continents labeled in Latin. Surrounding the two circular maps are intricate decorations, including portraits, symbolic figures, and ornate borders that suggest a historic cartographic design.
The historical world map titled Nova Totius Terrarum Orbis Geographica Ac Hydrographica Tabula, created by Henricus Hondius II in 1630, depicts the continents and oceans known at that time. The map features both hemispheres and provides a glimpse into the geographical understanding of the era. Notably, this map is the first printed map to depict the Australian continent, showing its rough outline in the bottom right corner. The four elements of the world representing fire, air, water and earth are depicted in cartographic pictorial decorations. The map contain portraits of Ptolemy, J. Hondius, Caesar and Mercator, and a dedication to David Sanclarus, Antonius de Willon and Martinius by Hendrik Hondius, dated 1630.

While certain restorations may still exhibit signs of wear and tear due to their age, many have undergone colorizing, color correction, removal of dust, scratches, and smudges, as well as other enhancements so they can be reproduced as exquisite high-quality, high-resolution art prints.
