A map of the British and French dominions in North America
A map of the British and French dominions in North America, with the roads, distances, limits, and extent of the settlements. The map was created in 1755 by John Mitchell (1711-1768), a respected British physician, botanist, chemist, biologist, and surveyor. Mitchell’s Map of the British and French Dominions in North America . . . is widely regarded as the most important map in American History. The map of the British colonies served as the foundation for establishing the boundaries of the new country at the Treaty of Paris in 1783 after the American Revolutionary War.

These cartographic maps represent meticulously restored reproductions of original drawings, illustrations, paintings, and engravings. While certain restorations may still exhibit signs of wear and tear due to their age, many have undergone color correction, removal of dust, scratches, and smudges, as well as other enhancements so they can be reproduced as exquisite high-quality, high-resolution art prints.
